Unit 3 Relaxation Exercise

Hello fellow Health and Wellness enthusiast,

This post will be short and sweet and to the point.  I found this exercise frustrating, there was to much talking and imagery.  Once you have finally found that image, he moves on quickly, I did not find that helpful.  This relaxation exercise did not take me to that state of truly letting go, I was trying to keep up with all the images.  It made you think through your exercise, this caused a lack of focus and relaxation for me.  Did anyone else find themselves trying to keep up and not finding that center of peace?  Let me know.
Thanks, Emily

  1. I found it relxing to be able to try and visualize something, but I did get the sense that the speaker moved very quickly and I would have liked more time to concentrate on the various steps in the meditation process

  2. Hello Emily-
I also thought that he moved fast. I found myself chuckling at the image that I had of myself with objects and colored lights.

  3. Hi Emily,

I agree with you very much. The meditation had to much going on and was frustrating. I did not find it beneficial. First of all the color choices were ugly, did not remind of a rainbow, and I had a hard time focusing the color and location thing together. In fact, it did not take me to relaxation at all because I was trying to focus on the location and listen to all the instructions. I was not impressed at all with this exercise.

  4. I agree with you! I was still trying to conjure up someone and missed the next part. I like how it did transfer or really to let us see that we really do already possess those qualities we just need to see them. It is always easy for us tomsee the good in others and forget the good that we have within ourselves.

  5. Emily that seems to be the consensus about the exercise. I found it difficult to relate body systems to windows and colors of the rainbow. It was not beneficial to me either. I liked the first one..it was slower and did not involve so much.

  6. I absolutely agree with you! I found the exercise a bit frustrating. I felt like it jumoed from one image to the next and that it did not give enough time to truly visualize it. I enjoyed the relaxation part of it but also struggled with visualizing the images in general. Maybe I need to step outside the box and work my creativity.

  7. I also found this exercise frustrating but attributed it to the fact that I was in the wrong frame of mind. I also enjoyed the relaxation part and found his voice very soothing. I suppose it's not for everyone:0 Best wishes for a happy, healthy new year!

  8. I found this exercise very relaxing. I suppose the fact that I have a very stressful household being a parent of 2 children severe on the autism spectrum the structure of this exercise was much needed to free myself from the daily chaos.

I do see how you could view this exercise as frustrating.

    Happy New Year!

  9. I am really, really frustrated because I am pulling military duty so I have not been able to access the exercise from these stupid government computers. One of the IT guys here have suggested that I have someone from the class send me the link that will allow me to do the exercise. If you get a chance will you be able to send me the link? If you are able to send me the link I'll then be able to tell you if I was as frustrated as you. take care. Rob

P.s. will you be able to send the link to tao.fares@gmail.com
